I'm ready. You're ready. I've seen you coming, and I've got big plans for you, December. We're going to rock 'till we drop. We're going to get 'er done. You're just a baby month now, but we're going to make something out of you yet!
First, we have to address our holdover goals from November. I managed to pull quite a few over the finish line, but I've got dreams to remember. Those dreams are:
Write in my paper journal at least two times per week.
Start mapping out redesign for corleymay.com.
Change my name at the Social Security office, DMV, and bank
Don't sleep past 8:00 am
Go to the gym at least 3 times per week. This will mean I have to go to the apartment office and get my passpoint card re-activated. Do that. (Now, last month I managed to put a lot of blame on our leasing office for my absence from the gym. Turns out they've been leaving the door unlocked. So, this one's my bad. Gonna fix it.)
New goals are:
Get the non-temporary license plate for my car. This one's less of a goal and more of a law. I'll get on it by Saturday. If I don't have a run-in with a cop before then.
Figure out creative Christmas presents for my family that involve spending little-to-no money (since we HAVE little to no money. HA!)
Blog 4 times per week. Not every day. Not with a photo attached. Just blog. Because I like it.
And that's it! I'm trying NOT to overload my plate, because as it turns out, I'm super busy! In November, I got (with the help from a friend) and completed (today!) my first paid freelance design gig. It. Was. Awesome. And even though I know I'm still in the kiddie pool, I've started working on getting my name out there as a social media/networking/public relations consultant -- for now, I'm helping businesses close to my day job with setting up their own websites, twitters, blogs, facebook fan pages...no real grand slam design work. Instead, I'm helping people figure out how to use the Internet to do what they've been doing all along -- getting the word out about their small businesses. I've really been enjoying myself, and I'm really excited about some of the work on the horizon -- work that promises to combine social media work with graphic design. Work that promises to help me zoom in on what I actually want to go back to school for. I've gotten business cards printed and everything, and I'm even signed up for the Spread The Love business workshop on January 15...so I guess these are my big girl pants. Let's hope they fit!
(ps. The cute calendar wallpaper came from Stylish Correspondance. Check 'em out for paper and design related goodies -- my favorite kind!)

That's really cool that you're helping out the other small businesses too, Cor. It will probably brighten their lives a bit if the publicity helps.
Thanks, Bubsy. I'm trying :)
